Matthew Burgess is a specialist in digital preservation, digital collecting and digitisation. With a Bachelor of Arts (Photography) from RMIT University, he made the transition from digitisation to digital preservation after completing a Graduate Diploma in Information Management at the University of Technology Sydney. Inspired by his work in digitising physical collections, he is now applying his knowledge and expertise to develop standards and educate others to enable the acquisition and long term digital preservation of born-digital collections.
